Nealis Tech adapts the ceramic industry of Castellón to the new water regulations

The Onda City Council begins its journey to become a Smart City by implementing IoTsens Smart City, a solution that optimizes public resources and reduces costs. To achieve this, IoTsens has deployed a LoRaWAN network throughout the municipality via various gateways distributed across different locations for the remote management and control of smart devices (sensors) installed within the municipality.
Onda currently has sensors for measuring noise levels in areas with high industrial or social activity and air quality monitoring sensors installed by IoTsens, in order to regulate noise and environmental pollution levels to guarantee the well-being of citizens.
In this regard, the mayor of Onda, Carmina Ballester, has argued that “if we believe in the future and want future generations to enjoy good living conditions, there is no other solution than to take care of the world we live in. That is why the municipal government is working to leave a better city for future generations, based on the pillars of sustainability and environmental protection.”
In addition, the City Council has also opted for a smart irrigation solution, located in the Parque de la Cerámica, which saves up to 30% in water consumption and significantly reduces CO2 emissions into the environment. For the correct functioning of this system, a series of solenoid valves have been installed which, thanks to the Smart Irrigation platform, allow monitoring of consumption, setting automatic irrigation dates or automating irrigation according to the environmental conditions of the land and the humidity recorded by the sensors.
