Foz promotes a strategic modernization of its urban water cycle with a new management contract

IoTsens It has taken a decisive step in its international positioning through its participation in the AIM Congress, one of the most important investment and development events in the world, which was held in Abu Dhabi and brought together more than 15.000 attendees from 120 countries.
During the congress, the company had its own stand, where it presented its latest technological solutions and established key strategic alliances for its expansion in the Middle East region, one of the fastest-growing markets in the smart city sector. This presence marked a milestone in IoTsens' internationalization strategy, successfully attracting the interest of leading institutions, companies, and public bodies.
Recognition for innovation, sustainability and excellence in urban development
But undoubtedly, the highlight came with the celebration of the prestigious AIM Future Cities Awards, which recognize the most transformative projects globally in the field of sustainable urban development. In this context, IoTsens It received the "Future City Pioneer" award, which recognizes those organizations that are leading the change in the application of technologies to build more efficient, resilient and environmentally friendly cities.
The organization especially valued IoTsens' innovative capacity, its strong commitment to sustainability and its dedication to technical excellence, as well as the real and measurable impact that its technology generates in urban environments.
A model towards climate neutrality: net zero buildings
The award-winning project, deployed in more than 370 public buildings across Spain, is a tangible example of technology's potential to advance climate neutrality. Through a network of over 1.800 IoT devices, IoTsens has enabled real-time monitoring and optimization of electricity, water, gas, and heating consumption, as well as key aspects such as air quality, occupancy, and lighting.
Thanks to this infrastructure, public buildings have access to precise and actionable data that allows them to improve their energy and environmental performance. The true value of this initiative lies in its ability to accelerate the transition to net-zero models—that is, spaces capable of balancing the energy they consume with the energy they generate or offset, thus significantly reducing their CO₂ emissions.
Technology with a global impact on climate change
The technological solution developed by IoTsens - based on LoRaWAN connectivity and seamless integration with municipal platforms via APIs - not only improves the efficiency of buildings, but also marks a turning point in how cities manage their resources.
With a scalable and replicable approach, this technology has the potential to be implemented in urban environments anywhere in the world, directly contributing to the decarbonization of public spaces, the optimization of resources, and the improvement of citizen well-being. Ultimately, it is a key tool for tackling climate change from within cities.
Recognition on a world-class stage
The award was presented by the Minister of Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, HE Dr. Thani Bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, during the official gala held at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Abu Dhabi, before more than 1.200 international guests.
This award represents an international endorsement of IoTsens' trajectory and reinforces its leadership as a driver of a new generation of smart cities: more connected, sustainable and people-centered.
