Myriam Gimeno shares Nealis's vision on equality at the 10th Colloquium on Women, Science and Business

The “Alcoi Smart City” project is closer to achieving its goal of turning Alcoi into a leading smart city, thanks to the implementation of the IoT telecommunications network of IoTsens, a Grupo Gimeno company specializing in global IoT, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence solutions.
Having this own private telecommunications network, which covers 100% of the urban area and industrial parks of Alcoy, will allow any sensor or IoT device and smart node in the city to be connected, in order to collect, store and analyze all the information from the sensors, making it possible to optimize public resources and reduce unnecessary costs.
To carry out this project - co-financed by the ERDF funds of the European Union - the company has proceeded to install outdoor and indoor LoRaWAN gateways and antennas to also provide coverage to the main buildings of the city, as well as the Font Roja natural park and the Baradello Gelat, El Sargento, Barxell, Estepar and Montesol urbanisations.
In this context, it is worth highlighting the close collaboration of the City Council and IoTsensAs a result, the company has previously installed sensors to measure noise levels, airborne particles, and the concentration of CO, SO2, NO2, and O3 gases.
Both the sensors and the network are part of the innovative “IoTsens Smart City” solution, a solution for the remote management of cities that facilitates decision-making by allowing the optimization of available resources in real time.
