A pioneering chair is created at the University of Valencia that connects water and bioenergy to address environmental challenges.

Waste collection and treatment, eco-park management, street cleaning and disinfection, and gardening are some of the tasks that the team of FOBESA y FOVASA has continued to carry it out tirelessly during the Covid-19 crisis.
These tasks, declared "essential" by the United Nations and the Government of our country through a Decree Law, have now also been recognized by Levante-EMV, which awarded the FOBESA-FOVASA team the "Heroes of the fight against Covid-19" prize.
The award ceremony took place last Friday in the courtyard of the Centre Cultural La Beneficencia in Valencia, where Juan Pablo Mateo, general director of Environmental Management area of Grupo Gimeno, received the award from Eva Blasco, president of the Valencian Business Confederation in Valencia. During the event, Juan Pablo Mateo wanted to personally thank "the team for their great effort and excellent work," who, as he stated, "are tirelessly on the front lines day after day to help stop this pandemic."
As the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) stated, these tasks have become more important than ever during the health crisis, as they are vital as part of an effective emergency response against Covid-19, at a time when various medical and hazardous waste is being generated, including infected masks, gloves and other protective equipment, as well as a greater volume of non-infected items of the same nature.
Representatives from other major award-winning companies in the sector also attended the event, as well as Lydia del Canto, director of Levante-EMV; Andrés Sánchez, manager of the media outlet; Agustín Carrillero, general director of ESIC; and Ismael Sáez and Arturo León, general secretaries of UGT and CCOO, respectively.
