Myriam Gimeno shares Nealis's vision on equality at the 10th Colloquium on Women, Science and Business

After being awarded the contract for the collection of municipal solid waste and the management of ecoparks in Muro de Alcoy in 2013, the local council has now entrusted FOVASA the cleaning of its streets for the next two years, with the possibility of a two-year extension.
The company has assembled a team of five people for these tasks, divided into three work groups. The first group, responsible for manual sweeping, will consist of three workers with their respective carts and tools. The mechanical sweeping team will consist of a single worker with a newly acquired City Cat 2020 sweeper, which will complement the manual sweeping efforts. Finally, the multifunctional team will consist of one operator and will have a Piaggio Porter open-bed truck equipped with a pressure washer, allowing them to effectively clean sports facilities and litter bins, as well as wash down the streets of the old town.
Additionally, during peak season (May to September) FOVASA The workforce will increase with the hiring of a sixth operator, who will join the rest of the team in the afternoons.
At the beginning of the year, the Muro de Alcoi City Council and FOVASA launched a campaign to gradually implement the so-called 'fifth container': the brown bin for organic waste. To facilitate collection, 2.200-liter side-loading containers with locks were installed, and large-scale producers in the municipality received special 120-liter containers to help them separate their waste at the source.
