Nealis shares his vision on the impact of AI on corporate communication

The tourism sector faces the challenge of ensuring the efficient and sustainable use of water in a context of increasing activity and pressure on water resources. Hotels, resorts, water parks, and large leisure facilities need solutions that optimize consumption, guarantee water quality, and promote water reuse.
In this context, SITRA , a company specializing in technological solutions for the efficient and sustainable management of water, works with tourism and leisure facilities to improve the management of this resource. Currently, its solutions enable the recovery of more than 30 million liters of water each year.
Reuse is one of the main tools for reducing mains water consumption, preventing losses, and repurposing the resource for new uses. SITRA develops solutions adapted to different facilities, from water parks and theme parks to large leisure spaces.
One example is Puy du Fou España, where the purification and regeneration system designed by SITRA has made it possible to recover around 22.000 m³ of water in one year and return more than 6.000 m³ of purified water to the riverbed.
This commitment to the circular economy also extends to the nightlife sector. In projects developed by SITRA for these types of establishments, more than 500 m³ of water are currently treated daily and subsequently reused for various internal purposes.
Sustainable water management also involves ensuring water quality, especially in facilities with high user traffic. In hotels and water parks, SITRA works with recirculation and filtration systems, as well as digital tools that allow for real-time monitoring of parameters such as turbidity, temperature, pH, and recirculation time.
This is the case of Aquarama, a leading water park on the Mediterranean coast, where continuous monitoring allows the treatment processes to be adapted to the daily influx and to detect possible deviations.
Another major challenge for tourist resorts is ensuring a sufficient water supply of the necessary quality during peak occupancy periods. To meet these needs, SITRA uses technologies such as reverse osmosis , which allows for the conditioning of available water and addresses certain supply limitations.
This experience is also applied in large tourist complexes such as Magic World, where the efficient management of water resources is especially relevant.
In addition, water management includes other areas such as the prevention of legionella , the treatment of wastewater before its discharge, or the control of algae using technologies such as ultrasound, used in ponds in zoos.
Swimming pools, gardens, accommodations, restaurants, and leisure spaces require increasingly advanced water infrastructure. Many of these solutions remain out of sight of visitors, but they are essential for reducing consumption, reclaiming water, and ensuring its quality.
SITRA's experience demonstrates how technology and innovation can contribute to making the growth of tourism compatible with more efficient and sustainable management of water resources.
