Foz promotes a strategic modernization of its urban water cycle with a new management contract

Facsa has participated in the "WATER 2030: From Water Safety Plans to territorial synergies" conference, organized by the SYMSITES project consortium in collaboration with Acque Spa, the public administration that manages the integral water cycle in the Tuscany region (Italy).
Specifically, Núria Zamorano, head of R&D&I projects at Grupo Gimeno and Facsa, gave a technical presentation focused on how to apply anaerobic treatments to the treatment of urban wastewater and industrial and urban waste, and elaborated on the technologies that will be applied in the case of the EcoSite in Spain, led by Facsa.
It is worth remembering that SYMSITES seeks to promote industrial symbiosis through advanced and innovative technologies for the regeneration of water and urban and industrial waste and the recovery of value-added products from them, accelerating the transition to an urban-industrial symbiosis scenario and evaluating its social, economic and environmental impact.
In addition, the project consortium took the opportunity to hold the face-to-face project follow-up meeting with the 30 partners that make up the consortium, reviewing the progress of the tasks and the final design of the EcoSites.
SYMSITES has been funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe program, under agreement number 101058426, and is entitled “Industrial Urban symbiosis and its social, economic and environmental impact on different European regions” (SYMSITES). The total funding for the project is €12.4 million.
