How innovation, continuous improvement, and technological disruption can serve as levers of change to provide differential value to companies, optimize their production processes, and promote both their diversification and organic growth.
These are some of the ideas that José Luis Vilar, CEO of Grupo Gimeno, championed today during his presentation at the networking event organized by Sabadell Hub Empresa—Banco Sabadell's Business Expansion Center—in Valencia. The event brought together experts and representatives from the public and private sectors to discuss various aspects related to the importance of investing in innovation.
During his speech, Vilar reviewed the digital transformation process that the Group has undergone, and explained how the company has managed to position itself as a national technological benchmark in areas such as the services sector.
Thus, as Vilar has highlighted, “the application of technology as a key tool to generate competitive advantages, as well as the development of predictive and scalable models, or the conversion of processes into data and software have allowed us, in addition to saving costs and increasing our efficiency, to improve our services, optimize resources, boost our current businesses and generate new ones.”
“It’s not about adapting to change, but about generating it,” the Group’s CEO emphasized, also highlighting the significant effort the company has made in areas such as R&D to develop projects focused on process improvement and the launch of new products and services, as well as leading cross-functional initiatives among business units and different departments to seek synergies and new opportunities.
Regarding the challenges for 2020, Vilar referred to the implementation of innovative initiatives, the development of internal staff capabilities and the creation of a partner ecosystem that includes start-ups, incubators and accelerators, to consolidate the digitization of products and services by making them 'SMART', in order to increase their added value.
