Grupo Gimeno participated in the Big Data and Innovation Forum: Engines of growth for the Valencian economy?, organized by The Confidential together with Ivie and with the support of IVACE + i, within the framework of the Valencia Monitor outreach program.
At this event, Marcos Rozas, director of the technology business unit of Gimeno GroupShe participated in the round table discussion entitled 'Is the Valencian productive sector prepared to make the leap to new data-driven business models?'. She shared the discussion with Ángela Pérez, Director of Operations and VP of Business Development at Health in Code Group; Inés Rosell, Head of Data & Analytics at S2 Grupo; and Oriol Rebull, CDO of CaixaBank.
During his speech, Rozas emphasized the importance of "sharing data." "It's true that if you need information, the competition won't want to give it to you for free. That's a mistake, and we must change this mindset because if we share data, we will all grow more," he stressed.
Rozas also pointed out that “the business that is the first to prepare a structure that allows it to choose which data to share and which not to share will have a competitive advantage and will be the leader. Many companies that were previously competitors will become partners very soon.”
He also added that "we need talented, flexible people who are willing to adapt to new challenges, and to achieve this we must offer an attractive project with good conditions and a clear purpose."
In conclusion, Rozas offered a reflection: “It’s impossible to maintain a business without becoming more efficient. Companies close when they are no longer sustainable and profitable, and currently, the only lever many companies have to achieve this is digitalization. Therefore, the problem isn’t the aforementioned gap, but rather falling into it.”
The meeting, held at CaixaBank's headquarters in Valencia, also featured presentations by Nuria Montes de Diego, Minister of Innovation, Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Valencian Government; Joaquín Maudos, Deputy Director of Research at Ivie; Hugo de Juan Jordá, CEO of Encamina, Entresistemas and Derobotica, and professor at ESIC Business School; and Alejandro Escribá, researcher.
The experts agreed that companies should promote professional management, invest in technology, and focus on talent.
