At a meeting held in the Clock Building at the Port of Valencia, the Foundation's trustees, including Gimeno GroupThey have reviewed the actions carried out during their third year of operation, in the areas of communication, dissemination, knowledge generation and support for existing initiatives in the Valencian Community that are linked to their 4 areas of action: entrepreneurship, innovation, technology and research.
Myriam Gimeno, CEO of Grupo Gimeno, presented an overview of the business mission to Silicon Valley undertaken by the Foundation a few weeks ago. Gimeno emphasized that "we can and must" apply what was learned on this mission to the Valencian Community. Therefore, among the lessons and challenges to be addressed, she highlighted key aspects such as the need to align universities with businesses, embrace Artificial Intelligence as a driver of growth and transformation, and promote communication to convey to society the value of our dynamic business sector with its great innovative potential. Ultimately, "we must contribute to creating that sense of community and entrepreneurial culture that works so well in Silicon Valley."
Carlos Mazón, president of the Valencian Generalitat, closed the event, emphasizing that “we must welcome digital nomads, because Valencians, with our prestigious location, are constantly creating new things. We can be proud of having created a functioning technological ecosystem.”
The LAB Mediterráneo Foundation is a project launched by AVE with the mission of positioning the Valencian Community as a national and European leader in entrepreneurship, innovation, technology, and research. To achieve this, it has set five objectives: to foster the creation and attraction of technology startups; to attract national and international technology companies to establish themselves in the Valencian Community and create a "pull effect"; to promote support for companies in non-technology sectors to accelerate their digital transformation; to contribute to increasing private investment in R&D&I; and to help boost research.
