Nealis Tech adapts the ceramic industry of Castellón to the new water regulations

Obtaining innovative and creative solutions that improve performance and sustainability in the Port of Valencia has been the main objective of the second edition of Valenciaport Hackathon Held this weekend. An event organized by the Valenciaport Foundation and Telefónica Open Future, which was sponsored by Gimeno Group.
The initiative – aimed at companies and corporations as well as students, entrepreneurs and startups – has been structured around four major challenges related to preventing human error through artificial intelligence, decarbonizing the logistics chain, finding the optimal location for each container in the terminal, and generating links between the port and citizens through commitment to the UN SDGs.
During the three days of the meeting, organized by Innova&acción, the 52 participants developed innovative solutions to these challenges, with the advice and support of experts from companies such as Grupo Gimeno.
On the one hand, Guillermo Berlanga, Director of R&D&I and Continuous Improvement, focused his presentation on the opportunities in the sector from the business perspective of Grupo Gimeno, while Sergio Vilanova, Director of Digital Transformation and Organization, presented the business group, focusing on the areas of port logistics and technology, and delved into the challenges and trends of the sector, with special emphasis on energy transformation and sustainability, always from the perspective of digitalization.
This event presents a great opportunity for the innovation ecosystem in the maritime sector, as it is planned to continue developing the most interesting solutions with the possibility of including them in Opentop's incubation and acceleration program.
