Ultrapure water Dominican Republic, SITRA's international project for San Pedro Bioenergy

Technology at the service of citizens, digitalization, and the energy transition have been some of the central themes of the X Journey on Safe, Sustainable and Smart Cities, which has been organized once again by the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) with the aim of reviewing the evolution of smart cities, innovations and trends in the residential market, as well as the role of the Administration, the Digitalization of services or Prosumer Buildings in the Energy Transition.
This meeting was attended by the CEO of Gimeno GroupJosé Luis Vilar, who shared the group's strategic vision on this matter within the framework of the round table 'Real Estate: in search of excellence'. During his presentation, Vilar highlighted the potential of technology as a solution to urban and social needs, as well as the role of companies as drivers of collaborative projects necessary to adapt services to new models of cities and homes.
Vilar shared the table with José Ángel Sospedra, senior director of CBRE Real Estate; Antonio Piles, general manager of business development at Grupo Bertolín; and Agustín Pérez, director of real estate investments at Atitlan. They all agreed on the need for professional urban planning, a long-term vision, and public-private partnerships. Public administration plays a crucial role in this equation, because, as Vilar stated, “major changes in cities have occurred thanks to courageous political decisions.”
In this regard, he concluded, "it is key to use all resources and commit to collaborative projects that open up the range to investor suppliers who want to promote these transformative projects."
The program for this tenth edition, which brought together specialists from government, businesses, and associations, included, in addition to various roundtables, three engaging lectures on sustainable mobility, decarbonization, and the digital transformation of cities. These were given by Enrique Torres, Sales Director at Siemens Mobility; Pablo Matas, Project Director at BP; and Marcos Pastor, Head of Cyber Risk at Howden.
With all this, this tenth edition of the meeting has managed to consolidate the day as a benchmark for professionals in the sector.
