Foz promotes a strategic modernization of its urban water cycle with a new management contract

More than 40 companies gathered at the 2nd International Smart Business Meeting: Innovation & Values. This congress—in which Grupo Gimeno participated—was organized with the aim of helping companies develop business models focused on sustainability and innovation.
During the event – which was opened by José Capilla, rector of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV), and José Vicente Morata, president of the Valencia Chamber of Commerce – more than 30 specialists presented pioneering concepts and ideas that help organizations make successful strategic decisions regarding innovative and sustainable practices, on topics as crucial as efficient supply chain management, digital integration, the circular economy, reputation management, the energy transition, and data analytics.
In this context, Guillermo Berlanga, Director of Innovation at Gimeno Group, He was one of the key figures in the roundtable discussion focused on the value of R&D&I in the business sector. During his presentation, Berlanga outlined Grupo Gimeno's commitment to research, digitalization, and innovation "as a crucial catalyst for enhancing the environmental sustainability of the group's companies," in which, as he continued, "we implement innovative projects and initiatives that allow us to improve the efficiency of our facilities, reduce our environmental impact, and, in general, achieve sustainable growth."
To make this possible, Grupo Gimeno has had its own Innovation department since 2009, which, as Berlanga explained, “manages the entire innovation chain, from basic research projects to experimental development, market transfer, and corporate innovation.” He concluded, “Our roadmap for sustainability and innovation involves all our departments across the board.”
On the other hand, Francisco Solves, general manager of ObremoShe participated in the round table discussion entitled 'Energy Transition'. There, she highlighted the company's role as a driver of the energy transition, "offering companies advice so they can invest their resources efficiently, which will result not only in cost savings by reducing consumption, but also in a shift in the energy mix towards renewable energies." In this regard, she emphasized Obremo's contribution to achieving the decarbonization goals set out in the 2030 Agenda, for which "companies must be sustainable in carrying out their activities and energy efficient both in their operations and in the management and use of their facilities."
The event featured prestigious figures such as Diane Rigos, scientist and professor at MIT's Energy Initiative; and Ken Webster, former director of innovation at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, the world's leading organization in the circular economy, and currently director of the International Society for the Circular Economy. On the business side, notable participants included heads of sustainability, innovation, and management from companies such as Consum, Naturgy, Orange, Zeleros Hyperloop, El Corte Inglés, Hidraqua, Frost-trol, Brainstorm, Occentus, and Zschimmer&Schwarz, among others.
