Myriam Gimeno shares Nealis's vision on equality at the 10th Colloquium on Women, Science and Business

Sustainability policies, ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) criteria, and reporting are more crucial than ever for companies, as argued by six female and two male communications directors at an informational breakfast organized by Castellón Plaza and dircom focusing on communication and sustainability as agents of change. In it, Carolina Beguer, Communications Director of Gimeno Group, has been one of the protagonists.
During the meeting, held at the Castellón Chamber of Commerce, participants reflected on communication as a catalyst for corporate sustainability and shared how their companies are addressing this issue. In this context, Esther Castellano, president of Dircom CV and the Region of Murcia, raised several points about communication as a key factor in conveying sustainability criteria and the challenges companies face. Indeed, one of the most important principles of communication is recognizing that “everything communicates.”
In this regard, Beguer spoke about the strategy of the Valencian business group, which "focuses a significant part of its work on integrating communication across all corporate areas of the business." Indeed, as all the attendees emphasized, the importance of being mindful of everything we say and do, and above all, how we say and do it, is something that must be kept firmly in mind. This is especially true now that, over the years, strategic communication has gained ground in companies, becoming a fundamental part of their business strategy.
Similarly, the communications directors agreed that, although the role of the communications director and strategic communication within a business has been gaining importance in recent decades, the pandemic has marked a turning point for companies, boosting and highlighting their work. It was a delicate scenario in which external and internal communication, as well as ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations, were key to their businesses. In this regard, Beguer stated that the health crisis “has demonstrated what companies do for society and has greatly helped to enhance our work, not only in what we do, but also in how we do it.”
Also participating in the meeting were Elena Rincón, Communications Director of PortCastelló; Sandra Mestre, Head of Communications at Simetría; Marina Valverde, Marketing Manager at Zschimmer & Schwarz; Esther Fernández, Head of Marketing and Communications at Frost-trol; Jordi Ruiz, Head of Communications at Aerocas; and Salva Serra, International Commercial Director at CCO Bestile.
