Gimeno Group has participated in the breakfast 'Road to Sustainability: Efficiency and Decarbonization in the Business World' organized by Valencia Square In collaboration with Valenciaport, the day began by highlighting the importance of understanding companies and their viability in undertaking the ecological transition. In this regard, Guillermo Berlanga, Innovation Director of Grupo Gimeno, emphasized that "we must be aware of the current situation and make viable the investment projects associated with corporate decarbonization."
In the area of sustainability in transport, Berlanga highlighted that Grupo Gimeno is improving its fleet—of more than 800 vehicles—to reduce its carbon footprint, as well as implementing significant changes in practices. “Photovoltaics are also playing a fundamental role in our roadmap, especially in hotels, water management, port logistics, etc. We have a renewable energy implementation roadmap that we intend to continue developing until 2025.” He also emphasized that Grupo Gimeno, through Portsur, is developing an electrification plan for the southern dock of the Port of Castellón, where they operate, and has a renewable energy pilot project underway, “actions the company undertakes out of conviction.”
Berlanga participated in this event along with Raúl Cascajo, head of Environmental Policies at Valenciaport, Sabrina Femenia, general director of Ethics and Sustainability, Lorena García, general director of CERS/CV, Laura Martín, head of the sustainability line at the Energy Technology Institute ITE, Francisco Ripoll, Project Manager Engineer at Grupo Alonso, José Javier Celdrán Gimeno, director of Levante Development at Veolia and Claudia Ferre, R&D&I Energy technician at Las Naves.
