The Red Cross recognizes Grupo Gimeno for its collaboration and support of the organization over the years

The headquarters of the Valencian Community Business Confederation (CEV) has hosted the act which the Red Cross has organized to recognize the work, commitment and social action plan of the main companies in the region, among which is Gimeno GroupMore than 50 companies, thanks to their collaboration and trust in the NGO, make it possible to deliver humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable groups, especially those who have suffered the consequences of the four major emergencies that have occurred in the last four years: the DANA storm in southern Alicante in 2019, the pandemic and lockdown declared in 2020, the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Canary Island of La Palma in 2021, and the refugee crisis in Ukraine.

In the specific case of Grupo Gimeno, represented at the event by Elena Llopis, Director of Organization and Process Improvement, the implementation of corporate volunteering campaigns and initiatives stands out. These initiatives are made possible by the team itself, demonstrating its strong sense of solidarity. An example of this is the fundraising campaign and collection of essential supplies for Ukraine launched last year, which filled three large trucks with clothing, footwear, medicine, and non-perishable food.

During the recognition ceremony, opened by the president of the Valencian Community Business Confederation, Salvador Navarro, and the regional president of the Red Cross, Rafael Gandia, the Red Cross held a round table discussion in which the key aspects of this type of collaboration in favor of the care of vulnerable groups were outlined.

Likewise, Adela Cortina, Professor of Ethics at the University of Valencia and Director of the ETNOR Foundation, gave a presentation in which she highlighted the transformative capacity of joint work between companies and solidarity organizations as a vector to improve the quality of life and well-being of the environments in which they carry out their economic activity, whatever their field.
