The Moors and Christians festivities in Elda have now concluded, Fobesa The company has activated a large-scale special street cleaning and waste collection operation to restore normalcy to the city's streets. This action, coordinated with the City Council, demonstrates the company's ability to respond to large-scale events and its commitment to maintaining public spaces.
Work began on Monday night, after the festivities had ended, with an intensive operation aimed at removing the waste accumulated during five days of celebrations and restoring optimal cleanliness conditions in the areas with the highest concentration of activity.
Fobesa's special cleaning operation included two water tankers, a pressure washer, three sweepers, and several workers equipped with blowers. The efforts focused particularly on areas where festival activities and the presence of festival tents had led to a greater accumulation of waste.
In addition, during the next few days the company will maintain the reinforcement of the service by means of an additional tank and specific morning and afternoon shifts for the pressure washer, with the aim of removing the most persistent dirt and ensuring the correct condition of the public roads.
This operation also includes the removal of the 130 extra containers installed during the festivities, as well as the replacement of the containers in their usual locations to restore the normal operation of the service.
The reinforcement deployed by Fobesa was not limited to the work following the celebrations. During the holidays, between May 28 and June 1, the company significantly increased the resources allocated to street cleaning and waste collection to handle the considerable increase in activity recorded in the city.
To achieve this, an additional water tanker, two extra street sweepers, and more operational staff were deployed, both day and night. In total, more than 120 liters of disinfectant and 200 liters of deodorant were used to maintain hygiene and sanitation in public spaces.
The operation mobilized an average of 41 workers on the night shift and 23 during the day, allowing an effective response to the needs arising from the celebration of the festive events.
Alongside street cleaning, the waste collection service managed by Fobesa removed more than 390 tons of garbage during the festivities. To prevent accumulations and ensure the proper functioning of the service, containers were emptied continuously throughout the city, especially in areas with high foot traffic.
This significant operational deployment demonstrates Fobesa's technical and human capacity to adapt its services to high-demand situations, ensuring urban cleanliness and the well-being of citizens both during and after events.
