Ultrapure water Dominican Republic, SITRA's international project for San Pedro Bioenergy

ID Smart Grids of Iberdrola has awarded two new civil engineering projects to the Electricity area of Obremo in the Basque Country, which will begin in the coming weeks and end throughout next autumn.
On the one hand, the contract awarded for the province of Biscay aims to upgrade the Artxanda Switching Substation, located in the municipality of Sondika. This project involves the construction of a switching substation, responsible for connecting the Basauri-Gatica double circuit near the branch line to the 132/13 kV Mazarredo Transformation Substation, in order to reduce the impact in the event of outages.
The function of a Switching Substation is to connect some transmission lines with other distribution lines, with the purpose of providing greater reliability and continuity of service; the voltage level is a single one, therefore, power transformers that raise or lower the voltage are not used.
Furthermore, the award in Bergara, Guipúzcoa, consists of the construction of the new Txara 30/13 KVolt Distribution Substation and the dismantling of the current Cementerio Distribution Substation with the aim of improving the electricity supply service for subscribers in the area.
It is worth noting that a distribution substation serves to reduce transmission voltages to distribution voltages, perform the necessary switching operations to control energy, and protect equipment and installations. These substations transform 66 and 45 kV to 20, 13.2, 15, and 11 kV.
With these two new awards, Obremo's Electricity division continues its growth and consolidates its presence in the northern part of the Peninsula.
