Grupo Imedes has announced significant progress in the construction of the photovoltaic (PV) plant in Carlet, a project developed by Obremo through Socenergy for Iberdrola, which will have a direct impact on the members of the Carlet Cooperative. This initiative is part of a Local Energy Community (CEL), which promotes shared self-consumption of energy in the town.
The installation, with a nominal power of 100 kW, has been completed at the supermarket next to the gas station in Carlet. Currently, the legalization process and final connection to the electricity grid are being managed in collaboration with the distribution company. Once completed, the energy generated will be distributed among the 80 members of the cooperative, who will benefit from considerable savings on their electricity bills.
It is worth noting that the project has received financial support from the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), in addition to a grant awarded by the Valencian Government.
Fernando Herreras Gadea, Head of Photovoltaic Activity at ObremoHerreras highlighted the importance of the project for the Carlet community, emphasizing its contribution to the transition to a more sustainable energy model. According to Herreras, the installation of the Carlet Solar Community "represents a significant step in the integration of renewable energies at the local level." He also pointed out that this type of infrastructure not only reduces dependence on conventional energy sources but also "offers cooperative members considerable savings on their electricity bills." Herreras described the project as "a clear example of how renewable energies can improve quality of life through shared self-consumption."
She also highlighted the initiative's positive impact in terms of sustainability, emphasizing the collaboration with Iberdrola, Socenergy, and Grupo Imedes. "We are proud to have carried out this project together," she stated, adding that, in addition to meeting technical standards, "we are actively contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions, which is essential to mitigating climate change." For Herreras, these types of projects demonstrate that "the energy transition is viable and beneficial for all involved."
This project represents a milestone in Carlet's commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency, serving as a model for other communities to follow.
