Foz promotes a strategic modernization of its urban water cycle with a new management contract

The Castelló City Council has awarded the contract to the joint venture formed by Gimecons and Telecso the execution of the comprehensive reform project of the Central Market, a key action for the modernization of one of the most emblematic commercial spaces in the city.
The proposal led by Gimecons has obtained the highest rating in the tender, both in the technical and economic aspects, consolidating the company's commitment to urban development and the improvement of infrastructure that generates social and economic impact in the environment.
The project includes the complete renovation of the historic building, as well as the construction of a temporary market in Plaza Santa Clara to ensure continued business for vendors during the construction. With a 16-month timeframe, the project will transform the Central Market into a modern, accessible, and multifunctional space, ready to meet the city's evolving needs.
Key improvements include the creation of larger sales stalls organized into islands, a large central corridor for events and activities, a glass facade with a panoramic elevator, and the conversion of the rooftop into a multi-purpose gastronomic space. The Plaza Mayor will also feature a terrace furnished with furniture and greenery, strengthening the market's connection with its urban surroundings.
Furthermore, the joint venture led by Gimecons will implement additional improvements such as the installation of solar panels for self-consumption, the optimization of the Smart Market system and the expansion of the equipment's capabilities, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability and innovation.
