Foz promotes a strategic modernization of its urban water cycle with a new management contract

The complete renovation of Castellón's Central Market is now a reality. Mayor Begoña Carrasco signed the contract to begin the works at a public ceremony held in the Plaza Mayor, accompanied by representatives of the winning consortium, formed by Gimecons and Telecso, including Jorge Cubero and Pablo Pons.
The event also included the participation of vendors from the Central Market, led by the president of their association, Sonia Castillo, and the manager, José Luis Hernández, as well as several councilors from the Castellón City Council and municipal technicians.
During his speech, Carrasco described the start of the works as "a historic day for the city of Castellón," highlighting that this project represents "a new boost for a true symbol of the city" and a firm commitment to "the future of local commerce, job creation and the revitalization of the city center."
With an investment of nearly 10 million euros, co-financed through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), the market renovation seeks to transform the space into a gastronomic, tourist and commercial benchmark, following the model of other major European markets.
The mayor wanted to especially acknowledge the role of the winning companies: "It gives a guarantee that you are people from Castellón, because I know that you will put your heart, soul and hands into this project."
By GimeconsJorge Cubero, the company's general manager, emphasized the importance of the project and the commitment of local businesses: "As companies from Castellón, this is a 100% Castellón joint venture, 100% Castellón DNA, we are putting the utmost commitment and sensitivity into this project, which is so important for the city."
With this action, the Castellón City Council and the winning companies are launching one of the most emblematic projects of the legislature, which will provide the Central Market with modern, functional and sustainable facilities, reinforcing its role as an economic and social engine in the heart of the city.
