The Valencian Kayak Polo team has been proclaimed winner of the Spanish Kayak Championship by Autonomous Communities, which was held this weekend at the facilities that Marina Burriananova manages in the port of Burriana.
The team has won the Spanish Kayak Championship trophy in Marina Burriananova after securing the title in the under 21 category, obtaining a silver medal in the senior men's category and two bronze medals in the senior women's and under 16 categories. The Valencian Community team was the only one of the participants that managed to include all its representatives in the semifinals of the four categories.
Organized by the Spanish Canoeing Federation, the event, which brings together the best Spanish athletes in this discipline with international recognition, consolidates the town of Burriana as one of the kayak polo paradises in Spain. Specifically, teams from Andalusia, Galicia, Madrid, the Region of Murcia, and the Valencian Community participated in the championship.
Fans of this discipline have celebrated these days being able to enjoy Kayak Polo again at Marina Burriananova after the European Championship of the same discipline was suspended last summer due to COVID.
