The Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises of Ibiza and Formentera (PIMEEF) held a conference today to publicize the opportunities offered by Next Generation funds.
The meeting, which took place at PIMEEF headquarters, was attended by representatives from the Balearic Government's Ministry of European Funds, Universities and Culture and with Facsa as a representative of a sector that is strategic for the islands, as they are at an ideal moment to successfully deploy the plans for the digitization of the urban water cycle.
Xisco Martorell, the company's representative in the Balearic Islands, gave the opening presentation, in which he championed water as an investment opportunity, citing the success story of Sant Antoni de Portmany. This municipality has successfully leveraged the digitalization of its water supply and sanitation services. Sant Antoni has made significant progress in customer service, service management (including remote monitoring systems, meter reading, and sectorization), and investment, while also capitalizing on the opportunities offered by Next Generation EU funds.
For his part, Guillermo Berlanga, Director of Innovation at Facsa, Her presentation focused on the opportunities offered by PERTE (Strategic Projects for Economic Recovery and Transformation) for the water sector and its digitalization, and how these projects are being implemented. This sector, strategic for the sustainability of the islands, is one of the few that has its own PERTE to shape and expedite investments in digitalization.
The event was closed by Yolanda Garví Blázquez, head of the Strategic Projects Coordination Department at the Balearic Government's Strategic Investment Office. In her address, she informed business and institutional managers about European Union funding opportunities and clarified some technical aspects of the administrative process.
The meeting, which took place at the PIMEEF headquarters, brought together the main companies of the Pitiusas Islands and they exchanged experiences on the different initiatives within the framework of the Digitalization Plan of Public Administrations.
