Myriam Gimeno shares Nealis's vision on equality at the 10th Colloquium on Women, Science and Business

Water is the beginning of everything, “it is the most common molecule in all living beings on Earth, the first”; it is a condition sine qua non for existence and for progress, and therefore, Facsa It calls for giving it greater prominence and awareness in the campaign commemorating its 150th anniversary.
Under the banner of 'Water First', the private company with the most experience in the complete water cycle in Spain has presented a new initiative encompassing a wide range of actions to be carried out throughout 2024. These actions are all aimed at highlighting the work of all stakeholders in the water sector and calling for collaboration from the entire society to preserve and promote this vital resource. As José Claramonte, CEO of Facsa, explains, "This is a unique proposal that will stimulate conversations on various topics that directly affect our sector."
The first phase of this campaign explains what putting water first means to the operator. Specifically, it highlights the role the company plays in preserving this resource, for example, by applying the latest technological advances to achieve better hydrological planning, greater water security, and maximum efficiency through the digitalization of processes. It also emphasizes its work in research and innovation, through which it contributes improvements and water solutions that help mitigate and even reverse the effects of phenomena such as drought, torrential rains, and climate change.
The second phase of the campaign will focus on raising awareness in society as a whole, and the following phase will appeal directly to individuals, professionals, and specifically to the emotions that water evokes in human beings.
All actions carried out throughout 2024 within the framework of this campaign will be compiled on the website www.elaguaprimero.com
Focus on awareness and outreach
Another initiative included in this campaign is the presentation of a paper which analyzes the current situation of the sector, as well as the celebration of the 37th edition of the AEAS Congress, the Spanish Association of Water Supply and Sanitation, which will be held on June 5, 6 and 7, 2024 in Castellón and which this year has Facsa as the host entity. Likewise, the company will organize its Technical Conference in October, an event that each year brings together a panel of top-level national and international experts.
All these events will culminate in a grand celebration the company plans to hold with all its employees as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication, as well as a major commemorative corporate event. The company will conclude its anniversary celebrations with the inauguration of its new headquarters, an 8.600-square-meter building that will house more than 250 employees and is intended to be a landmark for the city of Castellón.
Facsa, present and future
The company's growth and development throughout its history has allowed it to currently have a workforce of more than 1.000 professionals, supply water daily to more than 2.5 million people and purify more than 160 million cubic meters of water per year, always with a focus on efficiency and sustainability.
Looking ahead, Facsa continues its territorial expansion, consolidating its presence in the 15 autonomous communities where it already operates. Another key focus is implementing technology and innovation across all its processes to ensure water conservation and protection, as well as continuing to develop new activities stemming from water management, such as waste valorization and bioenergy.
