Foz promotes a strategic modernization of its urban water cycle with a new management contract

The Burriana City Council and FACSA, the company that holds the concession for the water supply service water The water and sewage management departments in the town have presented the Burriana Network Renewal Project 2021. This project includes the renovation and improvement works planned for the current year, with an investment of €995.765,65.
Regarding the drinking water supply network, both entities will work on the complete renovation of 272 service connections and 2.900 meters of pipeline – with diameters ranging from 75 to 200 mm. This action will represent, as stated by the head of FACSA's service in the town, Alejandro Boado, “an improvement in terms of service efficiency and resource sustainability by preventing potential problems related to water losses.”
Meanwhile, regarding the sewer system, FACSA will undertake the renovation of 1.900 meters of pipes. This work, according to the Councilor for Public Services, Vicente Aparisi, “will directly improve service for more than 300 residents of Burriana.”
These works to renew the municipality's water supply and sanitation network will be complemented by other actions aimed at improving water quality. Specifically, three meters will be installed: a continuous turbidity meter at the outlet of the municipal reservoir, a continuous nitrate meter at the municipal reservoir, and a continuous chlorine meter in Serratella. In parallel, the concessionary company will carry out a project to improve public drinking fountains.
Specifically, work will be carried out on Mare de Déu de Lourdes, Jardí, Manuel Becerra, Juan de Austria, Francisco Fuentes, Tales, República Argentina, Arbrets, Germanies, Industria, and Virgen de Niño Perdido streets, as well as on Nules, Mediterránea, and Camino Onda avenues, in Camí Fondo, and in Jardín del Beso square. With this plan, FACSA reaffirms its commitment to quality and efficiency in service delivery, as well as to promoting the sustainable use of water. Since the start of the contract in 2015, FACSA has renovated nearly 20.000 linear meters of drinking water network and more than 9.000 linear meters of sewage network, in addition to nearly 3.500 connections between both services.
