Furthermore, Facsa It has implemented a new corporate visual identity to commemorate its anniversary, which seeks to reflect the circularity of water and the long road ahead to protect this vital resource.
In this regard, Enrique Gimeno, CEO of Facsa, emphasized that “we are facing a truly special year for Facsa and Grupo Gimeno, and nothing excites us more than celebrating it with everyone who is part of our history. It's 150 years of learning, innovation, and growth. All of this is thanks to the trust of our clients, partners, shareholders, and especially to our entire team, who have grown with us. And we can proudly say that we have taken significant steps in terms of innovation, technology, and sustainability—key drivers that will continue to guide our business roadmap.”
A constantly evolving company: business expansion and diversification
Facsa's constant growth has been based on two fundamental pillars: the search for new lines of business related to the integral water cycle and the entry into strategic geographical markets, being present in 15 Autonomous Communities.
The company is developing its expansion and diversification plan with the aim of promoting transformative projects, leading the evolution of the sector and the energy transition. Thus, Facsa offers services in areas ranging from water supply, sewage, and wastewater treatment to bioenergy projects, waste valorization, and sustainable infrastructure. As a result of this commitment, Facsa founded Sitra in 2000, created the Hydrens division, and, in 2021, entered the renewable gas sector with the acquisition of Biovic, a company specializing in the engineering, execution, and commissioning of biogas, biomethane, and green hydrogen plants.
The major challenges in water management: circular economy, innovation and technology
Aware of the magnitude of the current environmental crisis and its likely consequences and impact on water management, Facsa is firmly committed to technology as an ally in addressing these challenges. This commitment has led to the creation of Waternology, which brings together the company's full technological potential under a single brand. Waternology encompasses technological solutions based on real-time data acquisition, storage and processing of information in cloud-based Big Data systems, and the application of intelligent algorithms.
Currently, Facsa has four main lines of R&D&I on which its entire innovation strategy pivots and which are focused on water purification, process digitization, water reuse, waste valorization and bioenergy or the generation of biofertilizers.
Promoting water culture and developing talent are the pillars of its social commitment.
A vital aspect for the company is ensuring that its activity has a positive impact on society; therefore, it is one of the pioneering companies in the sector to launch its own educational projects such as The Water Course y #ConnectToWaterin addition to the recently signed environmental education project Together for Water together with the Júcar River Basin Authority. For its part, training and talent are also two priority areas, a good example of which is its Vocational Training School, where it teaches Vocational Training (FP) modules for water management, in addition to the two university chairs it has promoted with the Jaume I University and the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
2024, new corporate headquarters
To coincide with its 150th anniversary, Facsa will inaugurate its new headquarters in the last quarter of 2024, an 8.600 square meter building that will house more than 250 jobs and will have high quality and environmental standards, integrating the latest innovations to make it a new emblem of the city of Castelló.
