Gimecons carries out the sealing of the last cell of the Onda landfill

The company Facsa, the concessionaire of the drinking water service, has ended in Vila Real The construction of the two granulated activated carbon plants at the Bassa del Poble and Amorós wells, commissioned by the City Council, has been completed. These new plants will become part of the municipality's water supply system, guaranteeing a supply of the highest quality water. It should be noted that these two wells supply more than 80% of the population.
The new treatment facilities consist of granular activated carbon filters located at the outlet of the collection points. These filters retain pesticides and their metabolites, which adhere to the surface of the granular activated carbon particles inside.
It is worth remembering that work is currently underway on the study and project for new treatment plants for the Reg Nou and Court de Carinyena facilities, thus completing the entire supply facilities of Vila-real with this system.
The Councillor for Public Services and the Environment of Vila-real City Council, Xus Madrigal, once again thanked the company for its commitment to the town and emphasized that “this technology allows Vila-real to take another step towards its goal of having sufficient, high-quality water to meet the challenges of the future.” The installation of these two activated carbon plants represents an investment of €1,3 million, the largest water-related investment in the city in the last 12 years.
