FACSA begins construction of new water reservoir in Almassora

The mayor of Almassora, Merche Galí, has visited the construction works of the new Pueblo reservoir that the company FACSA It was launched this January. Galí was accompanied by the Councillor for Public Services, Beaches and Tourism, Joan Antoni Trenco, the municipal technician, Francisco Lozoya, and the company's service managers: Pascual Maximino, director of the supply area, Rafael Ferrer, area manager and Patricia Agrasar, head of service.

The new depot, made up of 77 prefabricated reinforced concrete modules six meters high, will have a total capacity of 5.000 m³³ of water, the equivalent of two Olympic swimming pools.

Prior to the start of these works, included in the “New Pueblo Storage Depot” project, FACSA The company has carried out the necessary work to dismantle the overhead medium-voltage power line that crossed the plot, as well as the demolition of the old reservoir, which was built in 1932 and had numerous cracks, mainly due to its age. Furthermore, it has taken the necessary steps to guarantee the continuity of the water supply to the population while the work is underway.

It is worth noting that the equipment installed after the construction of the reservoir includes its integration into the remote control and monitoring system of the municipal drinking water supply and sewage service, which will allow real-time monitoring of the operating parameters of the installation.

During the visit, the mayor highlighted that this investment will improve the supply of drinking water, increase storage capacity, and solve the problems that the previous reservoir had due to its age.

As confirmed by FACSA, the construction of this new infrastructure will improve the supply of drinking water to the municipality of Almassora, optimizing the volume extracted from underground sources and increasing storage capacity.
