Torreblanca digitizes water management with Facsa technology to improve service efficiency

Facsa has participated in the latest follow-up meeting of the National R&D Plan project “Clogging-Inlets”, thanks to the collaboration it maintains with the Polytechnic University School of La Almunia (EUPLA), attached to the University of Zaragoza.
This project, which aims to characterize sediment and pollution associated with surface runoff in urban areas, is being developed by the GIHA research group (Research Group in Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering) of EUPLA, together with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.
To achieve the project's objective, the sewer network of the municipality of La Almunia was modeled using SWMM software, subjecting it to different design rainfall scenarios. This allowed researchers to understand the behavior of the sewer network and the municipality under various possible precipitation scenarios, reflecting the network's drainage capacity and identifying areas susceptible to flooding, with varying degrees of impact.
At that meeting, the EUPLA GIHA representatives presented the milestones achieved in the development of the project to the delegate of Facsa José Ramón Rada, and F. Javier Salas, head of the supply service of La Almunia de Doña Godina.
With this initiative, the company reinforces its commitment to academic institutions based in the territory, such as the University of Zaragoza, with which it began a close relationship through the Aragon delegation in 2022.
