Foz promotes a strategic modernization of its urban water cycle with a new management contract

The Júcar River Basin Authority (CHJ) and Facsa[Company Name], a Spanish private company with extensive experience in integrated water cycle management, has joined forces to promote water conservation and environmental improvement in integrated water use. The objective of this agreement is to achieve greater efficiency in the actions that both entities undertake in this area and thus maximize their synergies. It is worth noting that during the first year of this project, both entities have committed to developing six days aimed at children and young people in six different municipalities - within the territorial scope of both entities - with the aim of raising awareness among about 1.000 children.
The 'Together for Water' agreement was formalized today for the next four years at the CHJ headquarters by Miguel Polo, president of the CHJ and Enrique Gimeno, president of FacsaDuring her speech, Polo emphasized that “many things are currently being used that are very harmful to water and the environment, and we can only combat them through public awareness.” She also stressed that public awareness campaigns in urban areas, and specifically environmental education regarding water, “must include not only the importance of water conservation and the impact some of our actions can have on ecosystem degradation, but also the importance of the complete water cycle.”
For his part, Gimeno emphasized that “children and young people are agents of change. Educating them about water and fostering environmental awareness empowers them to make informed decisions and advocate for sustainable policies and practices in the future.” He also explained that this new agreement is part of Facsa's ongoing efforts to raise public awareness and find ways to understand and utilize water, a vital and scarce resource. Specifically, the company has been carrying out these types of activities for almost 20 years through various outreach campaigns, such as awareness-raising talks in schools, guided tours of its facilities, and educational projects like 'The Water Cycle' and '#ConnectToWater'.
During the event, Pilar Soria, Facsa's CSR Director, and Sara Jiménez, head of the CHJ outreach project, explained the technical development of the 'Together for Water' project, detailing the planned dates and specific objectives for each day. Following the presentation, attendees were immersed in an incredible virtual reality experience, using headsets equipped with an innovative surround sound system that Facsa employs in its #ConnectToWater project. This immersive journey allowed them to experience firsthand, as if inside a futuristic capsule, the different phases of the complete water cycle.
