Ultrapure water Dominican Republic, SITRA's international project for San Pedro Bioenergy

After being closed for a year due to the health crisis caused by Covid-19, the Didactic Classroom of FACSA It reopens its doors to resume the sessions of "The Water Cycle" and "#connecttowater", the innovative educational and environmental outreach projects created by the company with the aim of teaching, in a fun way, the complete water cycle and raising awareness about the importance of making responsible use of this resource.
Starting next October, primary, secondary, and high school students will once again be able to enjoy this experience, characterized by its practical, visual, and fun nature, and by the use of the most innovative educational materials, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, and 3D animated videos. Materials and resources are adapted to the needs of each stage, as "The Water Course" is designed for children up to the fifth grade of primary school, and "#connecttothewater" is designed for secondary and high school students.
During the sessions, an engaging presentation is given, explaining the complete water cycle and responsible consumption habits. Then, in the case of "The Water Cycle," comes the children's favorite part: an experiment to reinforce the concepts and values learned. This involves simulating how water is purified in treatment plants, demonstrating how water becomes contaminated in our homes, and emphasizing which everyday items can end up in the water and which cause problems in treatment plants and sewers.
In addition to promoting learning and fostering a positive environmental awareness among young people, the initiative also provides support for teachers, complementing the subjects taught in the classroom.
Both activities - completely free of charge - last two hours and can be done in the morning from Monday to Friday after arranging the day of the visit through the projects' websites. facsa.com/elcursodelagua/ y facsa.com/conectatealagua/ or by calling 964 22 10 08.
This year, with the aim of offering a safe visit in the face of Covid-19, the activities -framed within Waternology Society, the FACSA brand that encompasses its commitment to research and technological development at the service of society- will be carried out under special conditions with the application of measures such as hand disinfection, mandatory use of masks, periodic ventilation of the classroom and cleaning of equipment and material after each use.
