A pioneering chair is created at the University of Valencia that connects water and bioenergy to address environmental challenges.

The development company V5 Housing and the hotel chain of Grupo Gimeno, IntelierThey have announced that Valencia will have a 4-star Premium hotel next to Malvarrosa beach.
The new hotel, already under construction, will have 170 rooms spread across five to seven floors. It will feature its own parking and a penthouse level with a terrace.
It will be located between Padre Antón Martín Street and Malvarrosa Avenue, undoubtedly a strategic location that will allow its guests to enjoy Valencia's beach. Furthermore, it will be very close to the Malvarrosa Public Hospital and the San Juan de Dios Health Center, and will complete one of the city blocks in this neighborhood—specifically, the block next to Avenida de los Naranjos, whose lot has remained unused for decades.
This project represents an important milestone in the promotion of tourism development in the Maritime district, and specifically in the unique Malvarrosa neighborhood.
Sustainability and proximity
A key aspect of this new establishment is its commitment to sustainability; in fact, it will be the first hotel in Valencia to receive the prestigious German DGNB System certification. It's worth noting that achieving this certification requires a comprehensive evaluation of social, economic, environmental, comfort, and quality factors.
The building implements numerous strategies to reduce its carbon footprint throughout its entire life cycle and will have the highest energy rating (A) in CO2 emissions2Materials with a high percentage of recycled content and a high degree of recyclability will be used. Measures have been implemented to save water and energy, as well as to improve indoor air quality. Energy generation is also planned through a rooftop photovoltaic system, with a solar pergola providing shade on the rooftop. Guests will be able to monitor the hotel's energy consumption and comfort levels at all times via information screens.
All of this reflects V5 Housing's commitment and Intelier with excellence and sustainability as ethical values of business entrepreneurship that is linked to its environment.
This exciting project is being carried out using a collaborative work methodology known as IPD (Integrated Project Delivery). This pioneering initiative in Spain optimizes financial and technical resources, thereby improving execution efficiency and enhancing communication and transparency among all parties involved. “The developer, V5 Housing, has partnered with Vivare for its implementation. The project team, comprised of the developer, the architects from Morph Estudio, and the construction company Vialterra, has signed a single contract for the design and construction of the hotel. This contract defines the shared objectives, responsibilities, working methods, and the allocation of risks and benefits,” explained Jesús Bayarri of Vivare.
The Castellón-based chain Intelier, formerly known as Hoteles Intur, will manage and operate the hotel. This management model has entered the Spanish hotel market through large international chains that have been using it for many years. Given Intelier's prestige and extensive experience in the sector, the new hotel's owner has reached an agreement with the company to handle the management, thus ensuring fully professional operation.
Intelier further consolidates its presence in Valencia with this opening. Myriam Gimeno, its CEO, highlighted that “growing in the Valencian Community is very special for us, and we are very happy to do so hand in hand with a partner like V5 Housing, with whom we share values and a business philosophy.” The company faces 2024 with a new brand, a new hotel categorization, and immersed in its expansion plan. “Our goal is to be true hosts and to continue diversifying and consolidating our accommodation offerings.”
