The International Sports Travel Agencies Association (ISTAA) has welcomed Intursports Travel Service, Intur's sports division specializing in the management and organization of services related to sports, as an associate member. This milestone represents a further step forward for the Grupo Gimeno company in its commitment to international expansion, which will undoubtedly open new business opportunities and further growth.
ISTAA, established in 2009, has become one of the world's most prestigious organizations in the field of sports tourism. It currently operates on all five continents.
Its main objectives include generating and consolidating networking and business development channels among its members. It also contributes to highlighting the contributions of sports tourism to the global tourism sector.
“For Intursports Travel Services, joining an international organization of the stature of ISTAA represents a very important milestone, not only for the visibility and prestige it brings to our company, which has accumulated more than 10 years of experience in sports tourism, but also because we believe it will help the province of Castellón to consolidate itself as a preferred destination for many teams, both for their preseason training camps and for the celebration of official competitions and other sporting events,” explained José Lamas, Director of Intursports.
In that regard, Lamas emphasized that, “if we also take into account that the membership requirements are very strict, we are very proud to have been accepted, since there are very few Spanish members in the association.”
Intursports, which offers and manages training and competition stays for all types of national and international sports, also contributes to enhancing the province's image abroad as a top-level destination for sports tourism, in order to consolidate the positioning of the Castellón regions as a benchmark in this field as well.
